For centuries there has been a tenuous peace through the ruins of the Corinthian Empire. One bought with the blood of countless thousands, and floundering in the shadows of a cold war. A conflict fueled by magic, faith, and dragons. The memory of mages may be long, but time begets complacency, and ambition is a wolf ever circling at the door.
Three children are cast into the royal court of a small western kingdom. Avrale, a land ever caught between the true power brokers of their world. Yet the forces spiraling around the Ashton children hint at a larger picture. That nothing about them is at all ordinary. Even if all they want is to live their lives, and find their place, the world it seems has other plans. They will learn that gifts can be burdens, and great power is never without consequence.

Content Appropriateness: As a general rule 15+ would be my recommendation for YA readers, but for a more in depth examination consider: Content Guide or the more philosophic Considering Audiences. These largely cover only the main Storm Cycle, and some extended works may be older.
Decades in the making, the four planned books of the Storm Cycle became Seven, and remain a work in progress. Book I became II, Book III became III, IV, V, and VI. Not to mention many side stories, including a half finished novel set before the “Age of Kings.”
After three years of publication we begin the home stretch. The concluding book of the Storm Cycle has started. Still eventually with the hope to return to the start, do a final pass on each book and release to eBook publication.
If you aren’t sold yet, then let me give you a hint of what to expect. While the story starts at the very beginning with the young Ashtons, this is an outgrowth of setting the stage for the adults they become. It is a tale ever about the humanity and foibles of those who find the strength to stand up, and be what the world needs, even if they will never quite be what the world wants.
Though the story told is set, these pages are self edited, and any corrections or feedback are greatly appreciated. Please, don’t be shy, comment with anything that isn’t a spoiler up to the chapter you are on. Thank you, and enjoy.
